2. The circulatory system
The function of the circulatory system is to distribute the nutrients of food and the oxygen throughout the whole organism and to collect the waste substances produced by cellular metabolism and to bring them to the excretory organs.
The circulatory system is formed by:
- A circulating liquid: the blood
- An impulse pump: the heart
- A distribution system: the blood vessels
